Welcome to the Southern California Dulcimer Heritage website. SCDH is a 501 (c)(3) organization dedicated to the perpetuation of the hammered and fretted(mountain) dulcimers and their international relatives. Along the way, we hold musical events during the year, such as our annual Picnic and jams, and the Harvest Festival of Dulcimers in Dana Point.
If you love dulcimer and traditional music, whether you play or not, you've come to the right place. You will find a warm group of people who believe in the beauty of music just as you do.

The Southern California Dulcimer Heritage was formed by a group of dulcimer enthusiasts to foster the vitality of common and diverse musical heritages by promoting public awareness, access, and appreciation of fretted and hammer dulcimers and their international relatives. Many opportunities to met others who share a love of music can be found by participation in SCDH events. Our workshops are for all levels and talents. Our jams include ALL acoustic instruments, singers and listeners.
Serving as a catalyst for the dulcimer community, SCDH helps preserve and promote traditional music from many cultures for players and listeners alike. This support helps to pass on a wonderful musical heritage to future generations.
This years Harvest Festival of Dulcimers will be held at the OC Sailing & Events Center (formerly the Youth & Group Facility)
